BAJO Yeah DARREN, they’re obsessed with it and for good reason. But if you're one of the few that hasn’t been living in a blocky cave for the last year then Minecraft is basically an open world. Life simulator. Or something. HEX Well whatever it is, when you start a new game you're dropped into a randomly generated, almost infinite world of blocks.

And build just about anything you can imagine. BAJO There’s no story or quests either, the whole point is to do whatever you want and try to survive the cruel monster-riddled nights. HEX But you’ll end up creating your own quests pretty quickly. For example, you start with nothing so there’s your first mission; gather some basic resources and build yourself a shelter. BAJO Yeah, and then once you’ve survived your first night you might want to go exploring, or dig a huge hole. Or make a giant castle.
With a little imagination it’s easy to set yourself a goal and then be completely absorbed for hours doing it. DARREN Oh indeed, I spent several days over the holidays constructing a giant statue of me. It ended up being quite the work of art if I do say so myself.
BAJO Yeah, it’s very impressive DARREN but you totally stole all of our spare cobble and you ripped up lots of our rail to build a roller-coaster inside your self. DARREN Don't mention it Bajo, I call it the Poop-A-Noob because it poops noobs out and hurts them at the end of the ride. HEX So are you saying the spawnlings can go and download our world now and ride this poop-a-noob? DARREN Affirmative! HEX Right, well. If you want to be pooped out by a giant DARREN then you can go on our website to grab our save game.
The installation instructions are on the site, they’re a bit technical so you might need a grown up to help you out. And you do have to own a copy of the game. BAJO It has to be said tho that a lot of people find Minecraft to be a bit too aimless.
If you're looking for a good story or don't care about being creative then it isn’t for you. There is a final boss and an ending now, which does give a bit of purpose to it all. It’s quite complicated to get there and it’s not even that great when you do to be honest.
